  34. rpm2cpio will strip the header off and leave you with a standard cpio archive. 
  35. I'm sure you could engineer your own program to do this if you wanted to.  I 
  36. haven't looked at the rpm format in detail but I doubt it's hard - you might 
  37. even be able to do it with dd, od and a bit of shell script.
